I worked on environment props on Fortnite seasonal content while working at Final Strike Games. We were responsible for creating props for unique seasonal quests that players could interact with in various ways. These were created to a high standard where any asset would hold up in a cinematic but also adhered to a very optimized vertex and texture budget. Karin Madan and I collaborated on the gear stash asset where she made the fuel can, bed roll, food box and tall duffel bag asset, and I created the two backpacks and duffel bag. The yard sign asset I built from scratch and Juna Weng combined it with a shelf asset provided by Epic Games and did final set up of the prop in the editor. The cardboard standee I built from scratch and re-modeled and textured a small electrical box asset from Epic into a radio device. This project was a great learning opportunity and exciting to work on a beloved and dynamic franchise like Fortnite!
